The crescent moon marking the end of Ramadan was sighted over the United Arab Emirates early today. Tamim Al Tamimi of the Emirates Astronomical Society captured the moon around 6am on the 28th day of Ramadan (1447 AH). With astronomical calculations confirming a full 30-day Ramadan this year, Eid-ul-Fitr is expected to be observed on Friday, 20 March, welcoming the month of Shawwal.
